There’s so much information out there when it comes to nutrition and very often there seems to be a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

At FitLifeBalance, we believe in assessing you as an individual, understanding your current life situation, your needs and your goals, and then creating a plan that works for you.

With the right plan and the right support, kick-starting a healthy lifestyle could feel effortless.

Our individual assessment provides us with information on your current eating habits and more importantly on what your body needs to achieve the results you’re after.

Once we have this information, we can discuss the changes you need to make and how best to incorporate them into your lifestyle.

The fundamentals of nutrition

We will consider how many calories you need each day, but this will not be the focus for our advice.

Instead, we will look at how these calories are made up.

With the right amount of carbohydrate, protein and fat in your diet, the calories will simply fall into place.

This focus helps avoid the trap so many dieters fall into of counting calories and feeling deprived.

We focus on what needs to go in, not on how much needs to be cut back.

This puts us in a much more positive mindset to embark on our new lifestyle.

Say NO to dieting… Say Yes to good nutritional habits

FitLifeBalance does not believe in the concept of dieting, or cutting out certain food groups.

We question why, when it comes to diet, people believe they have to suffer and deprive themselves from the foods they love to get the results they’re looking for.

We want you to keep enjoying your favourite foods, whilst avoiding any feelings of deprivation.

So…. How do we do this?

Your Basal Metabolic Rate.  What nutrition do you need?

We work out how many calories your body needs in a day to survive (Basal Metabolic Rate).

We assess your current activity levels and what additional calories you need to participate in these activities.

We consider how much protein, fat and carbohydrate you need for your own unique body composition and we look at how you can achieve this in a way that is appealing to you.

It may sound complicated, but the changes you need to make can be very easily implemented.

FitLifeBalance can support you every step of the way.

Once the changes are in place and have become part of your lifestyle, you can just sit back and watch the results start to take place.

Before long, your energy levels will be higher, your motivation higher, your lethargy much less and your sickness less…. That’s to name just a few of the benefits that come with this approach to nutrition.

One thing to remember….

Your BMR slows down at roughly 2% every 10 years after the age of 20.

If we keep eating as we did in our 20s as we get older, we will put on weight.

How can we manage this?

  • We can reset our BRM! By strength training 2-4 times per week
  • We can increase our percentage of lean muscle tissue and
  • Raise our metabolism
